Job Description
Pillar4 Media is seeking a Staff Writer to join our fast-growing team and work on one of our most successful digital brands, Sleepopolis, a market-leading resource for sleep health, product reviews, and news.
The Staff Writer will be responsible for writing well-sourced and reader-friendly stories for our News category. You’ll work closely with our Head of Content, Brand on story ideas and assignments, with the goal of publishing informative, approachable articles about sleep that appeal to a broad audience. You may also be responsible for occasional product reviews, and there will be opportunities to appear in social media videos to support News content.

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Content, Brand, the Staff Writer will:
- Write between 4 – 6 news stories per week for Sleepopolis.com.
- Brainstorm and ideate new story ideas and potential angles with your assigning editor on a daily basis.
- Build on existing relationships with expert sources in the sleep health space, reach out to potential new sources, and integrate expert commentary into all stories.
- Turn in a clean copy with attention to detail, keywords, links, and grammar.
- Collaborate with social, newsletter, and video teams on editorial projects and packages.
- Post and format all reviews in our CMS platform, WordPress.
What You Bring
- 1-2 years of professional writing experience, whether in an assistant or freelance capacity
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. You maintain a high standard of excellence in your work and are able to balance multiple deadlines.
- Experience with interviews, proper sourcing, and CMS story production.
- Passion for lifestyle journalism (health, wellness, fitness, sleep, nutrition, etc.)
