The Technical Writing and Education team is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to help with public documentation. The job is to organize, update, and optimize the materials they have to help developers use

Position Summary

The Technical Writing & Education team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to help with our public documentation. The job involves organizing, updating, and optimizing the materials we have to help developers use The role reports to the Technical Education Manager.

The hours for the role are flexible, but should ideally have at least some overlap with CET.

What You Can Expect to Do on a Daily Basis

  • Write tutorials, reference material, and how-to guides to help developers get up and running using
  • Work with our technical and support teams to ensure existing documentation is accurate and up-to-date and satisfies user needs.
  • Communicate with the rest of the team to suggest and drive implementation of changes to existing documentation methods, processes, and materials.

What You Bring

  • A caring mind-frame and an empathetic spirit. The ability to think from other perspectives is a tool we ask of all employees.
  • 5+ years of experience writing documentation or other educational materials for a technical audience, at least some of it in a docs-as-code environment using a Git workflow.
  • Ability to understand the structure of code (not necessarily all of the details) and data files (such as YAML) and some experience using the command line.
  • Attention to detail as well as the organization and structure of documents and doc sections.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with modern cloud architectures and development processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting application behavior.
  • Experience creating educational materials other than documentation.
  • Experience with content design/UX writing.
