Job Description

Our Senior full stack Engineer will lead and develop the engineering teams responsible for Taxzap’s entire digital proposition. You will lead the support and evolution of existing platforms, and build new applications as we evolve TaxZap’s proposition. You will work with stakeholders across all levels of the business and lead and manage our entire engineering workforce. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys the challenge of working in a fast paced, scale up environment and therefore thrives in a hands-on technical leadership role.

What you will be doing

• Lead the technical strategy for Taxzap across people, process and technology
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap against our business objectives
• Build process maturity in the use of agile development practices, CI/CD, DevSecOps
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across TaxZap’s Fintech products
• Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our customers
• Ensure team makes solid technical decisions and achieves high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate with Product and Co-CEO on the definition and design of impactful features
• Line management, mentorship and coaching of all engineering workforce
• Drive team results and impact across Fintech and other TaxZap products
• Directly change the trajectory of the business on a daily basis for the better
• Hold a high bar for engineering excellence and help enable your team achieve it
• Promoting a culture of learning, collaboration and open communication

About you

• Proven track record of success
• 5 + years experience building digital products leveraging modern tech architecture principles (Cloud, API first, event driven, scaling distributed systems etc )
• Extensive experience and clarity of thought around various software development technologies and best practice engineering standards
• Strong cloud platform and devops experience
• Low code and data platform experience
• Adept at establishing product development environments that is underpinned by Agile/Lean principles and CI/CD
• Can manage trade-offs between getting things done and platform stability
• Strong communicator who can express engineering tradeoffs to diverse audiences
• Disciplined and focused on delivering a positive impact for TaxZap clients
• Passionate about engineering leadership and motivated to improve and develop others
• Ambitious and delivery focused
• Pragmatic approach to solving engineering problems, ensures best possible customer outcomes

• A variety of languages, including Node.js and Python for backend and Javascript and Typescript for Frontend
• Front-end Framework Vue and Backend Framework Flask
• Industry-standard build tooling including Github
