Full-Time Content Strategist

Databento – Posted by rj-ninja Salt Lake City, Utah, United States

Job Description

Databento is looking for a Content Strategist who can create valuable and memorable financial data related content for the diverse community, using the latest tools.

The financial industry is growing at a record pace, but our data providers are still stuck in the past — with cumbersome onboarding processes, complicated APIs, slow infrastructure, and expensive licensing costs.

Databento is the next-generation market data provider — with the radical idea that you should only pay for the data that you use. We power the world’s largest finance and fintech institutions and lower the barrier of entry for small startups.

Since starting in 2019, we’ve raised over $27.8M in funding and have over 2,000 companies signed up pre-launch. Our team consists of former data users from firms like Two Sigma, Belvedere, Pico, Bloomberg, Pinterest, and Google.

We offer health, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits, as well as 401(k) matching and visa sponsorships. We accommodate 100% remote work, with teammates living around the globe and paid in their local currency.

We’re looking for a content strategist who can create valuable and memorable financial data-related content for our diverse community, using the latest tools. If you enjoy learning about the financial markets and facilitating discussions amongst our community of traders, developers, and entrepreneurs, this role is for you.

As a Content Strategist at Databento, You Will

  • Own the content planning, designing, writing, and editing process across all channels — including social media, blog, company newsletter, and Slack, from end to end.
  • Produce professional content that aligns with our brand and mission. Examples include but are not limited to: customer stories, partnerships, helpful resources, insights based on our data, industry trends, and infographics.
  • Set measurable KPIs to grow our community and social media presence.
  • Identify new marketing channels, lead generation opportunities, and advertising or sponsorship opportunities that can attract a wide variety of prospective users to our community.
  • Develop frameworks and forecasts to analyze content performance – help decide on resource allocation and prioritization of content-driven efforts.
  • Frequently engage with users – track and report feedback, reviews, and feature requests.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to create technical content and improve SEO.
  • Work with engineering team to respond to customer queries, feedback, and reported bugs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with product team and designers to create better user experience and community resources, and to improve community awareness of product features.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with social media (especially Twitter, Linkedin, and Slack), SEO, SEM, and online marketing channels.
  • Working knowledge in finance, fintech, data, machine learning, and/or software engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied math, finance, marketing, communications, business, management, journalism, writing, or any field with an emphasis on writing or social skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Background

  • Previous work experience as a content strategist, developer advocate, community manager, support engineer, product manager, or product evangelist.
  • Working knowledge of social media best practices and optimizations (content lengths, image resolutions, best times to post, etc) as well as content management systems (Hootsuite, Loomly, Salesforce).
  • Experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience organizing, launching, and measuring the success of social media and other campaigns (online forums, events, newsletters).
  • Passion for educating people with a wide range of familiarity on a given topic.
