Full-Time Content Strategist

Job Description

HubSpot is looking for a SEO/Content Strategist to help shape the expansion of HubSpot’s premier e-learning platform HubSpot Academy. This role will report to the Head of Video Growth.

Every month, thousands of people sign up to HubSpot Academy, which provides free professional certifications and coursework. Your work will help us set new records! A candidate poised to be successful in this role will have an insatiable curiosity for understanding what kind of educational content resonates with existing and prospective Academy users (and keeps them coming back for more). They are deeply analytical and use data-driven insights to research content topics, test theories, improve results, and meet KPIs. This person is also a pro at collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

  • Run keyword research, conduct competitive analysis, and identify content gaps to find areas for organic growth
  • Identify existing content for historical optimization and craft an update plan to increase its value to the business
  • Perform regular content audits; find and fix keyword cannibalization across Academy content offerings; align content creators to prevent future cannibalization
  • Transform insights from search research into an editorial content plan and strategy
  • Measure and report on organic traffic, rankings, and backlinks generated from search and historical optimization strategy
  • Help to inform educational content and creative best practices
  • Partner with other teams, including but not limited to content creators/editors, social media managers, product marketers, and acquisition marketers
  • Consistently improve and optimize our processes

We Are Looking For People Who

  • Have growth marketing expertise for educational content (particularly video)
  • Are equally comfortable running an in-depth analysis of trends and putting together a proposal that highlights opportunities for content we should create
  • Have experience in keyword research, search intent mapping, topic clustering, competitive analysis, and historical optimization
  • Understand content marketing techniques, best practices, and have experience creating an editorial content strategy, creating content themselves, and/or working with creators
  • Are excellent writers and communicators
  • Can think critically and make data-informed decisions
  • Have used some or all of these tools:
    • Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Looker

It’s a Bonus If…

  • You’re familiar with social platform growth strategies and trend spotting

Cash compensation range: 66000-99000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
