Freelance Content editor / proof-reader
Job Description
We manage a high-profile, fast-paced online publication in the branding and marketing sectors, and require an experienced editor and proof-reader to enable us to up-scale.
About the role
The role includes proof-reading and editing articles, checking optimisation and liaising with our writers and publishing team on a daily basis.
You will be a native [American] English speaker, with an excellent command of the language. The scope of the role will include editing / re-writing headings, intros, sub-heads and sections of articles (where this is necessary), ensuring our output is optimised for search.
Ideally, you will be familiar with Ahrefs (or a similar tool), although this is not a prerequisite.
This role will suit a quick worker, who is able to assist in publishing a high volume of articles per week. You will require several years experience working at this level.
A summary of the role:
—Editing draft content.
—Ensuring content is optimised for SEO.
—Checking internal and external links.
—Fact checking.
—Liaising with our team of writers and publishers.
—Using Ahrefs where necessary (we have an account).
—Creating briefs to update old articles.
Terms and payment
This is a freelance position, and we anticipate requiring between 16 to 20 hours of your time, initially.
We’d prefer to work on a per hour basis, although this is negotiable. The rate will depend on your level of experience, so this is also negotiable.
Invoices can be submitted monthly, and we’re fast payers.
